Initial paintings

These initial paintings are roughly based on a previous monoprint, both compositionally and with colour, as well as images of industrial and urban structures. Through my work I hope to utilize the flatness of surface and simplified forms to emphasise a bold and harmonious palette. Because my work focuses on how colours interact, the edges within the paintings vary from hard-edged against raw canvas to overlapping.
